    30 Breakout Players

    By Pete Prisco

    http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10882613

    very nice
    20. Sidney Rice, WR, Minnesota Vikings: Rice caught 31 passes in 13 games in 2007 as a rookie. With Bernard Berrian now on the other side that number will go up. Rice doesn't have great speed so he needs speed on the other side to help open things up for him. Berrian has that. Look for Rice to possibly have a 70-catch season.
    EW
    26. Troy Williamson, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars: He was considered a flop in Minnesota after his selection in the first round of the 2005 draft. He had 79 catches in his first three seasons, just 24 in 2007. That's why the Vikings traded him to the Jaguars for a sixth-round pick. During the Jaguars' offseason work, Williamson was outstanding. He didn't drop a pass. If that carries over to camp, his speed will be a big addition to the Jacksonville passing game

This guy needs to get his facts straight. T-Will only caught 18 balls last year. 2005 was when he caught 24.

Prisco was a writer for the local fish wrap in Jacksonville when they were awarded the Jaguars.
He has some blinders on for the Jags, justifiably so...he just can't help himself sometimes.

Also, I think the Vikes have at least two breakout players:
    Madieu Williams AND Sidney Rice.
EJ Henderson broke out last year but will be alot better this year IMO.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

I don't know if I would consider Madieu a breakout player.
We signed him to a 33 million dollar deal.
He's already shown he's a very good player.

    Re: 30 Breakout Players

    How about AP breaking out?
I'm hoping for 2000 rushing yards and closer to 40 receptions for 600+ more
    ;D

How about Chad Greenway in his second year starting, third year knowing the system, with a major improvement to the pass rushing players in front of him?????
This guy could break out like Mr. Koolaid breaks in!!!
    ;D

I think our OL could collectively and individually "break out" too!
I want to believe that McKinnie has learned some life lessons, that he and Hutch are getting, "gelled."
I saw a good interview with Hutch on nfl.com last week, and he talked about how he and Walter Jones in SEA didn't need any verbal communication anymore, they just knew what the other would do for those last couple of years he was there...he and McKinnie should be approaching that level!
And, same could be said for Herrera and Cook on the other side.
We extended AH mid season for a reason, and Cook has come a long way too!

And then there is, of course, the big question, the guy in control, driving the purple powered machine, Tarvaris Jackson.
Is this his break out year?
    I'm certainly hoping so!!!

    Williamson?
    REALLY?????
    Brandon Jackson?
If I was the Pack, I'd be signing Grant to at least three incentive laden years!!
That could put a hurting on BJs carries.
Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports ranked the top-30 players that are most likely to have a breakout season in 2008 — and for the most part, his list looks pretty good. Sidney Rice was the Vikings’ lone representative on the list.....
