bethel johnson, travis taylor and mcmullen are all gonna be FAs. i dont think all three would be brought back. probably bethel johnson, and one of the other two.

i think we're going to need talent right away, so maybe a trade? sort of like the javon walker to denver deal.

Also people are going to get cut and stuff.. or be on the block all over the league.. look at Walker, Lelie this year.. we are not dead.. But i still wouldnt mind Kevin Curtis..

You're right of course, thevikingfan, there isn't a lot of talent there. But nonetheless, I would still rather we traded for a veteran (and proven) WR than try and hit the jackpot in the draft. The problem is that the draft is just so unreliable, especially when it comes to WR's (just ask Detroit). Sure there are many exceptional WR's to come out of the 1st round (Tory Holt, Marvin Harrison, Santana Moss, just to name a few), but I don't even think I need to list the 1st round busts, arguably one of which we have on our team right now.

No, I would rather see us trade for a known success, someone who is a leader. And for the record, I'm actually not completely ready to give up on Williamson yet. I mean, Moss had freakin' Cris Carter as a mentor his first year! How could you not be good? T-will meanwhile had...Koren?

Not exactly top-notch mentorship there. I think that if Troy had some pressure taken off of his shoulders, and was given the opportunity to develop under a proven leader, the results would be considerably better.

Oh, and BTW, I was one of the people arguing at the beginning of the season that there was no need for a #1 receiver in the offensive scheme we would be using, and that we would be just fine with the receivers we have.

I'll go ahead and eat that crow now.

Eric Moulds would be a great pickup, someone who could show the young guys how to play.

Troy Brown also-he'd bring leadership and playoff experience-not too sure of his skills though and I know he's pretty old.

As we have seen in evidence here and in Detroit, drafting a WR is no sure thing.
And some times it takes a couple years for them to have an impact.-

You're right, tho, at this point - not a lot of big-name talent listed.
