Re: 14 skip practice, but Favre attends

Lord Favre skips practice again, keep setting that shinning example! What a team leader, this is the reason the other players skipped the other camp because if the leader of the team doesn't have to be their why should the rest! 4 - 12 and cellar dwellers again!

Favre a no-show at Packers' Monday workout

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Associated Press

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Brett Favre was an unexpected no-show for the Green Bay Packers' voluntary workout Monday morning.

But it wasn't immediately clear whether Favre's absence was a big deal -- or simply a case of coaches not wanting to overwork their star quarterback so early in the offseason.

Favre was present for last week's voluntary workouts, and Packers coach Mike McCarthy said last week that he expected Favre to attend this week's sessions as well.

McCarthy said through a team spokesman that he would address Favre's absence during his regularly scheduled interview session on Tuesday. He has said several times that he wants to limit Favre's "pitch count" during workouts so the quarterback doesn't get worn out.

Favre is scheduled to speak to the media on Thursday and will host his annual charity softball tournament on Sunday.

Wide receiver Donald Driver recently said that getting the chance to work with Favre on chemistry and timing was a primary reason he was adamant about attending the voluntary workouts.

But Driver said Monday that he wasn't disappointed Favre wasn't on the field.

"Not at all," Driver said. "We came in, we knew we had a job to do regardless of the situation. We hope that everyone's here, but guys have time to take off. Guys had other plans and you have to respect that. Guys have their own thing going on right now."

Driver said working with the team's other quarterbacks on Monday was worthwhile.

"We still have great quarterbacks out there throwing the ball, so we can't just say we're not practicing because Brett's not practicing," Driver said. "There's going to be days where he doesn't practice and a lot of other guys don't practice. We still have to practice to win our games, regardless of the situation."

Favre wasn't the only notable absence on Monday. The Packers were again without both of their projected starting cornerbacks, Al Harris and Charles Woodson. Other notable absences included cornerback Ahmad Carroll, fullback William Henderson and defensive tackle Ryan Pickett.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

A.J Hawk didn't show up because he's in the same boat as EVERY Ohio State player drafted: they're not allowed to participate in any kind of professional football activity until graduation or the end of term or something, which is either the middle or end of June for Ohio State.

Someone who cares more about it can find a link explaining it.

    Donald Driver for Public Office!!!!!

Seriously!!! The guy has already mastered the art of double-talk and BS.

Ok, I don't really want him in office, but in that latest interview, did anyone else notice that he said a lot of words, but communicated absolutely nothing?

    Look again:

But Driver said Monday that he wasn't disappointed Favre wasn't on the field.

"Not at all," Driver said. "We came in, we knew we had a job to do regardless of the situation. We hope that everyone's here, but guys have time to take off. Guys had other plans and you have to respect that. Guys have their own thing going on right now."
Guys had other plans? You have to respect that?!?!?!? Guys have their own thing going right now?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Donald, Donald, Donald...these guys are SUPPOSED to be PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES!!! These guys are already supposed to be well grounded in the fundamental concept of TEAM. These guys get paid a whole lot of money to NOT have "their own thing going right now", and the fans most certainly DON'T respect that...not with what you guys get paid.

And, c'mon, "guys have to take time off"???? From WHAT!!!!! You've had, what, a couple of days of light practice so far? Geez, hope that season they scheduled for you doesn't overload you.

In short, Donald, you're full of caca. While it's a nice gesture, defending your team mates, it's ultimately a hollow one because your quotes went out to more than Packer fans...people who can actually read saw them too.

Does he realize what he says, or does he simply open his pie-hole and spew forth this stream of stupidity? WHO are the "great" QB's throwing to you, Driver? Rodgers? The first round bench-warmer? The guy Favre has repeatedly crotch-kicked since he was drafted? Tom Arth or Brian Wrobel? The UFA's Green Bay just picked up? Yeah, I'm sure that they're STELLAR players. Or maybe you mean Ingal Martin, the 5th rounder from this year.

Sure, Donald, your depth at QB has the rest of the NFL envious as all....oh, who am I kidding. Even with Favre in the line-up, you don't have a "great" QB on the roster anymore.

The last line of his quote would have been appropriate...had he used the rest of his pie-hole running to say something to the effect that the rest of his team would have been netter off reporting...but he didn't.

Bottom line, Green Bay needs to practice more than most teams after their horrible season last year. Yet, they don't. Look for this year to be just as bad as last year.

If anyone of you like to gamble, I'de think that if you bet against the Pack, week in and week out, by the end of the season you'de for sure show a profit....

Just because their the pack, the spreads will be be either way to high for them to win or way to low for them as underdog..

I'm saying now, out of 16 games, they cover the spread only about 5 times..........Remember this what I'm saying now.....

    From KFFL;

Packers | McCarthy upset at Favre talk
    Tue, 6 Jun 2006 20:59:31 -0700

Chris Jenkins, of the Associated Press, reports Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy was upset Tuesday, June 6, with all the talk about QB Brett Favre missing practice Monday, June 5. "I never said he would practice all four days. Him practicing all four days was never the intention, ever," McCarthy said. McCarthy seemed slightly agitated by persistent questions about players who haven't taken part in voluntary workouts.

"Brett has hit every target that we've asked," McCarthy said. "The plan for him has been laid out for months and frankly, I'm not going to get into going through this every day. He worked out here (Monday), he did what's asked of him. I've said it over and over; we're just being smart with Brett. So he did what was on his schedule to do (Monday)."

Farvetard only decided to come back 6 weeks ago.
