    12th man will die.

Yet another attempt by the NFL to turn this game into a shoot out EXCITING EDGE OF YOUR SEAT offensive spectacle of fast scoring and high flying entertainment.........and further away from the game I love.

Seriously college ball is looking better and better every year.

They know that if YOU choose to boycott, then some other SUCKER, uh...I mean fan, will just step up and take your place.
Too much power nowadays in sports....too bad the average fan can't be heard anymore (pun INTENDED)!

    So stupid.
Can we get Tagliabue to take his old job back?

    Goodell just seems so oblivious.
He says that he loves the 12th man and their influence over the game, and that he doesn't want to take that away.
Well, what exactly are you doing then?
Aren't you putting these headphones in the helmets to counter-act the fans?

    No huddles will become common.

    Burned Timeouts due to malfunctions

Complaining when a team loses that the other team was somehow disrupting the technology.

Audibles will be come instant, the defense will have less time to react.

This is effects the game entirely even if you do not consider the fan factor. The rules of the game will have changed.

Only way I could possible agree with this is you get 5 seconds to relay the play then they are cut, and every single defensive player gets a speaker in their helmet and the MLB gets to call the adjustments and scheme.

They have toyed with this idea before, and there is a lot that the article left out.
For instance, how long would the speakers be on?
The QB speaker is turned off when the play clock hits 15.
Would this prove to be an unfair advantage for the defenses, who are without helmet speakers?
There are a lot of issues with this, which is why they are testing it in NFLE first.
To be honest, I doubt this will see fruition anytime soon.
It will get swept under like the idea of defensive helmet speakers do each offseason.

It all just seems so uncalled for.
Football has been going along fine for years.
College kids play in more hostile environments and they get by just fine without them.

    Re: 12th man will die.

I hope this never comes to fruition.
There would be a lot of pissed off fans across the country.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with Cajun on this one, the stands would still sell out.

Like Del was saying, the game would be changed dramatically.
