hahahaha
No.1 - Aaron Rodgers, quarterback, Green Bay Packers
Unless Brett Favre decides to do some scratching before late August, this guy shouldn't bother sitting down. While Brett continues to sit in Mississippi, his former understudy from Cal will remain under bitter scrutiny unless he's able to lead the Pack to victory in every game  and that's just maybe. Unfortunately, this year's schedule is no hayride. And even if Favre, whose $12 million price tag would require restructuring or the firing of current players, goes elsewhere (the moon?), Rodgers will be second in QB popularity...behind rookie Brian Brohm.

Re: 10 NFL players on hot seat
Don't agree:
Jake Long
Matt Ryan
Matt Forte
LT
Chad Johnson
Not sure why someone can label a rookie on the hot seat and why the leading rusher and a career high season for a WR belongs on that list.
Agree:
Reggie Bush
Matt Lienart
Donovan McNabb
Aaron Rodgers
Undecided:
Roy Williams
I know some don't agree but I think TJ belongs on that list.

Re: 10 NFL players on hot seat
in a way i feel bad for aaron rodgers. its just the way life is. if he doesnt pan out hes going to get it from packers fans. its like what happened to jay fiedler when marino left. or what happened to brian griese when elway left. those guys sucked and they got their share of people talking smack about them. it sucks to take over after a hall of famer was running that position at a high level for a number of years..

And yes, TJ should be on the list as well.
Problem is, most will believe he should be some sort of HOF QB or he is gone.
I just want to see at least as much improvement as he had between his rookie year and his second season.
Again, he won't be a HOF QB but it should be good enough to win a few more games.
IMHO, that is good enough. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: 10 NFL players on hot seat
whether you agree with it or not, Aaron Rogers is on the hot seat.
Its unfair to him, but its true.
Fans will expect him to go out and perform like Grandpa Favre, and if he doesn't it will be much like it was here with Brad Johnson, fans will be calling for Brohm to start instead.

I really think Alex Smith should be on that list, moreso than any of the rookies.

I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.

The way I judge if a player is on the hot seat is if the guys who make decisions will decide to shit can him based on his play this year.whether you agree with it or not, Aaron Rogers is on the hot seat.

If Rogers lays an egg this year, I hardly think the PUKER organization will shit can him my friend, regardless of how pissy a few fans get.
Long story short, those knuckleheads up there in PUKER land, even though they are gonna beeeyyyyatch alot, will still go to games regardless of thier new QB's play.
Long story short, Rogers will get at least this year and next year to see what he can do.
If he doesn't produce, then the org (not the fans) will give Brohm his shot.
;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: 10 NFL players on hot seat
I sorta agree with you, as far as he won't be getting canned, but the article also did say he didn't include unsexy rexy because his chair has already burned to the ground, yet he has a contract.
That means he's basing his evaluation on something other than "will the coaches/FO can this guy after this season"
Why would they put LT on that list, I would say his job is very secure.
IMO, being on the hot seat would inclue anything from being on the verge of getting cut, to losing your starting position, to having fans hate you and start a mutiny.
