Opener right around the corner... PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 27 August 2008 00:00

Well, it's ALMOST that time - the last preseason game is this Thursday in Dallas (most season starters won't play much, that's for sure). The coaching staff will be getting a good long last look at those hoping to impress enough to make the team. Most if not all the starters are pretty much set - it's dog-eat-dog time for the hangers-on for the final roster spots. I see several rookies making the team: Tyrell Johnson, that hard-hitting young safety. I've watched him on special teams and he is a sure tackler. Rufus Alexander, at LB, along with Erin Henderson, younger brother to EJ. In any case, it's been an exciting preseason, and I am ready as HELL for the regular season to start! I have been a fan since the early-to-mid 70's, and I genuinely hven't been this optimistic in a long time.

Quick side thought: Why does the NFL charge full price for preseason home games, when most of the starters don't play a majority of the games? Another quick thought: Why the hell do we pay it?

Back on track: This is going to be one exciting season, if anything. If T-Jack and Purple Jesus can stay healthy, the sky is the limit for this young team.

Until next time, sports fans! SKOL VIKINGS!

1. Why does the NFL charge full price for pre-season? Because they are greedy.

2. Why do we pay for it? Because, as a season-ticket-holder, I have no choice.
